As part of our annual Christmas Exhibition & Gift Fair we will be holding a Christmas Competition for our students!
Entries will be exhibited in the Studio across the weekend of the 29th – 30th November.
A winner and one runner up will be chosen by a panel of local judges.
The theme of this years competition is:
“AWEN”
A celebration of Welsh creativity and winter spirit
This years festive art competition invites students to explore the magic and inspiration of Welsh culture through the lens of Christmas.
Inspired by the ancient concept of Awen — the spark of inspiration cherished by Celtic bards — we welcome artworks that reflect the myths, landscapes, traditions, and poetic soul of Wales in winter.
From misty mountains and hearth-lit cottages to echoes of the Mabinogion and the voices of Welsh poets, let your artwork be inspired by Awen!
The theme is completely open to your own interpretation and entries are welcome from any one who has attended a class or workshop here at CCS this year (2025).
Please ensure that your entry is delivered to the Studio by Monday 24th November clearly labelled with “AWEN” as well as your name, contact details and the price of your artwork if it is for sale. All artwork must be ready to hang.
Please note: there is a 30% commission on exhibition sales at CCS.

1st prize : £100 gift voucher for CCS + goody bag
Runner up prize : £50 gift voucher for CCS +goody bag
