Covid 19 Statement:
Please read the following information carefully.
**Update regarding the new guidelines for Wales**
Due to wide spread local lockdowns in Wales – please note that students living in a lockdown county are no longer permitted to visit Chapel Cottage Studio as it comes under the heading of “Leisure” rather than “Education” and is therefore not classed as “essential travel”.
If you are booked to attend an upcoming class or event and you are living in a lockdown county please get in touch and we will be happy to offer you a full refund.
The current government advice states: “Face coverings will be required in all indoor public places, for both customers and staff working in those indoor public areas.”
Therefore from Monday 14th September we request that all visitors to the Studio wear a face covering at all times when inside the Studio building.
From September 2020 our programme of classes will continue with several new measures in place that allow us to comply with government advice regarding cleanliness and social distancing.
For the Autumn term (September-November) all classes will be going ahead with half numbers (i.e. one person per double table) to allow for social distancing. This will mean a maximum of 7 students per class as well as 1 tutor.
There will be a one-way entry/exit system in place. Please enter the Studio via the single door leading into the office and leave via the double doors leading onto the patio. This will avoid students congregating in the narrow hallway.
We will be providing hand sanitizers at the entry/exit to the studio as well as in the bathroom and sink areas.
Tea and coffee will continue to be available for those who wish, you may like to bring your own cup/mug or please feel free to bring a flask or travel mug if you prefer. If you use a studio mug, please ensure you place it in the dishwasher at the end of your class.
Chapel Cottage Studio will no longer be providing food of any kind during classes (even biscuits I’m afraid!). Although we are currently exploring the option of opening a cafe or having pre-ordered food available to purchase during full day/multiple day classes. You are most welcome to bring your own packed lunch for the day and you are welcome to use the studio fridge for storage as well as the studio cutlery and crockery if you wish. Again, we would be grateful if you would place any used cutlery and crockery in the dishwasher when you have finished with it.
We would appreciate your help in ensuring that the Studio remains safe and clean. Anti-bacterial sprays/wipes will be positioned on each table and we would be grateful if you could take a minute to clean your work station before you leave to ensure it is ready for the next group of students.
You are very welcome to borrow studio equipment (paint brushes, water pots etc) but please use the antibacterial spray/wipes provided to sanitize any items before returning them.
We will be carrying out stringent cleaning (to include work surfaces, chairs, bathroom, sinks, kettles, door handles, light switches etc.) between every class.
We would appreciate your cooperation in this matter – if you feel unwell or have any of the covid 19 symptoms – please stay at home.
As we all know, the situation can change very quickly and we would recommend that you check the up to date government advice before coming along to your class/event:

Please be aware that all planned classes for the Autumn term are subject to change and we will be following any new government advice as it is issued.
