Covid 19 Policy:
30th August 2021
Following a thorough risk assessment ahead of the new 2021- 2022 programme of classes and events, we have now introduced an updated Coronavirus Policy. Please read the following information carefully.
Reducing the chance of Covid 19 being present at Chapel Cottage Studio (CCS):
We encourage all visitors (students, tutors and clients) to CCS to take regular Covid 19 tests to ensure that you are not unknowingly introducing the virus to our facility.
We encourage all visitors to be fully vaccinated before attending a class or event with us.
Anyone who is symptomatic, has tested positive or is awaiting a test result or has been asked to self isolate is not permitted to enter CCS.
Now that social distancing measures are no longer law, we are able to return to our usual number of 12 students per class.
To ensure that we mitigate any risks of contracting or spreading corona virus due to this increase in numbers, face masks will continue to be mandatory when inside the CCS building (unless you are exempt).
Students will be seated two to a table and we encourage you to keep to your own half of the table and to avoid sharing any equipment.
Tables will be spread evenly throughout the studio and a strict booking policy of 12 students and 1 tutor will be enforced to ensure that we do not have more than 13 visitors in the Studio at a time.
Visitors are encouraged to maintain social distancing where possible and to avoid congregating at communal areas such as sinks, kettles etc
We will enhance airflow and air circulation in the Studio by keeping doors and windows open where possible and practical.
There will be a break of at least 30 minutes between classes to allow the air in the Studio to refresh between groups of people.
Visitors to the Studio are reminded to wash / sanitise their hands frequently, particularly when entering / exiting the Studio and before and after using any communal facilities such as the bathroom, sinks or kettles.
Hand sanitiser and hand wash facilities are provided throughout the Studio.
We encourage visitors to keep to their own workspace where possible and not to share equipment. Use of studio equipment is permitted but please ensure that it is sanitised (using the spray or wipes provided) before being returned.
Please help us to maintain cleanliness by sanitising your work station before you leave your class or event using the sprays or wipes provided.
We will be carrying out stringent cleaning of all communal and touch point surfaces between every class (including surfaces, tables, door handles, sinks and taps, kettles, bathroom etc).
The Studio will be thoroughly cleaned by a professional cleaner once a week on top of our regular cleaning as detailed above.
Administration of refreshments:
At present CCS will not be providing lunches, however students are welcome to bring along a packed lunch for full day / multiple day workshops and tea and coffee facilities continue to be available.
We encourage visitors to bring their own travel mugs and utensils with them, however use of the Studio crockery and cutlery is permitted. Studio crockery/cutlery must not be shared and anything you use must be placed in the dishwasher before you leave to avoid any cross contamination.
We encourage visitors to sanitise their hands before and after using communal facilities such as the kettle / coffee maker.
Reducing aerosol volume:
We encourage visitors to keep any music being played and general chatter to a low volume.
This avoids the need for anyone to raise their voice, shout or bring their faces close together in order to hear better and therefore reduces the risk of covid 19 being spread via increased aerosol volume.
Face masks will continue to be mandatory inside the CCS building for the time being unless you are exempt or when you are eating or drinking.
Test, Trace and Protect:
We will be keeping clear records of attendance for all classes and workshops. This way we will be able to support the NHS Test, Trace and Protect system in the event of a visitor testing positive for the virus.
We would appreciate your support in this matter by :
- always booking your place ahead of the class and informing us if you are unable to attend
- ensuring that we have up to date contact details for you (either email or telephone)
We will ensure that all visitors to the Studio are provided with details of how to minimise the risk of exposure to covid 19 at CCS.
We will do this by continuing to display our covid 19 policy clearly on our website and a link to the policy will be included in every booking confirmation email that we send out. We will also provide a link to our risk assessment via our website.
We will provide regular reminders for students to read our covid 19 policy and we will inform our database of contacts whenever we make any amendments or revisions to the policy.
We will ensure that we have clear signage around the Studio reminding visitors of our control measures e.g. wearing face masks / regular hand washing etc.
We appreciate your co-operation in this matter.
